Welcome!

I am a guitarist! 
I teach a joyful approach to making music on the guitar with the Suzuki method.
I teach children out of the Mosaic String Academy in Portland, Oregon.

Music learning for our cherished children should be fun and also touch our hearts!  As a mother I know and understand this!  I am one of the very few female guitarists.  I have an advanced degree in music (Ph.D) and teach at Lewis & Clark College, University of Portland and Portland State University.  I choose to also teach children because I believe they are what we hold most dear to our hearts.  Music speaks to our hearts!  I use a very similar approach when I instruct my adult students as we all have to learn to be kind and gentle to our inner child. 

I seek to develop musical, cultured, curious, and creative citizens through teaching and sharing of music.  Children and parents learn together in the Suzuki method that was developed more that 70 years ago utilize music education to build a more just, resilient, equitable, and cultured society. I teach children and adults in southeast Portland and close in westside as well as online Zoom.  I am teaching out of the Mosaic String Academy near Reed College.
